A Speedy Breast Augmentation Recovery: 4 Things You Can Do
Many patients I consult with about breast augmentation at my Honolulu practice are most concerned about the recovery: How long will it take? How uncomfortable will it be? There’s no precise answer to those questions, since every patient’s breast augmentation recovery is unique. You can tip the odds in your favor for a smooth recovery, though, by following the detailed instructions I provide.
It’s also helpful to know what to expect, which is why I spend a great deal of time talking about how your enhanced breasts will look and feel in the days and weeks following surgery. I also use the latest surgical techniques to produce the best results possible while limiting recovery time.
There are also some steps you can take. To help you during breast augmentation recovery, here are some tips to remember:
- Don’t schedule appointments for several days after surgery, other than your follow-up visits to our office.
- Make sure you not only have someone to drive you home after the procedure, but also to help you at home during the first couple of days. No need for unnecessary straining around the house.
- Have things you’ll want, such as your phone, television remote, or a book, on your bedside table before leaving for surgery.
- Wear shirts that button or zip up in the front instead of pullovers, so you won’t have to raise your arms.
